If you’re interested in 3D printing and/or weird cars, this Local Motors project is pretty awesome to follow. The resolution of the printing looks to be pretty low, but I’m sure that can be improved upon

It was super low res because they printed the whole thing during IMTS. Kind of a glorified golf cart, but neat anyway.

Whilst I appreciate what they are trying to do, I’d rather have the Renault Twizy, which this uses the drivetrain and suspension from.

If they can print carbon on a mass produced level, this would be revolutionary. I think Local Motors has pivoted to a think tank with lots of great ideas. Nearly everything they do is about 10 years ahead of what everyone is doing and they have some serious VC (venture capitalist) cash to back up their stuff.

This company is so under reported but GE has invested money in LC...and Airbus Ventures has dropped 150 million on LM as well.
